Opportunities From: Acorn Resale Shop

It's fun to see what treasures people are taking home! It's even more fun to hear the stories about how they will be used!

As a cashier you will work at the register greeting guests, smiling at babies, ringing up purchases, taking payments, and bagging. The kids are always excited to share their camp stories with you too!

One more thing -- you get to wish everyone well as they take their new finds to their forever homes.

There's nothing boring here!

This is a luncheon put on by Camp Roger where the proceeds from the Acorn are presented.  Join us while we celebrate the amazing accomplishment of all our volunteer's hard work in helping to raise money for Camp Roger!

Clean & sort donations -- You get to make everything look their best as you get them ready for the sales floor.

After putting tender loving care into the items, you kind of experience a proud "mama" or "papa" moment when you see your cleaned up goods ready to find a new home.

Oh! Did we mention that you also get the first look at what comes into The Acorn? Yes, that means that you also get first dibs on purchasing what comes in!

All the benefits of being a processor! Now how can you say no to that??

Our Donations Receiver is responsible for:

Greeting all Donors during the shift with a friendly smile

Bring donations inside to be sorted or store in the shed until needed

Pre-sort donations into Hardlines and Fashions

Track levels of donations during the shift

Process donations in-between donors

This Opportunity is for our Electronics Processing Shifts. We will have one opening per shift.  Responsible for processing electronic donations (testing) in order to get them ready for the sales floor.

Our Fashions Restocker is responsible for:

Being familiar with clothing merchandising practices such as our Lavender price tags, dater tags, tag placement, etc.

Put back clothing from the Try-On rack

Tidy up hangers and fallen clothing items

Pull our "timed-out" clothing pieces following our current procedures

Restock clothing and shoes as space allows

Assist with price checking items that do not have a price tag

Coach - Front of House - Sales Floor

You provide an extra level of care for the store as you supervise the sales floor during shopping hours. You both interact with customers and keep the place looking good.

Our Hardlines Restocker is responsible for:

Being familiar with hardline merchandising practices such as every item needs to be properly tagged, rubber bands around cords, etc.

Tidy up shelves & displays

Pull "timed-out" hardline pieces following current procedures

Restock hardlines as space allows

Assist with price checking items that do not have a price tag

or our Ladies Night Out event, we are in need of:

A couple of Cashiers, Floor Hosts, Parking Attendants, as well as assistance with refreshments and cleaning up after the event.  Let us know what you are interested in helping with.  Thanks!

Coach - Back of House - Processing Donations

You're kind of the shift leader in the processing area.

You'll work with staff to understand the goals for the shift. Then you'll work alongside and coach volunteers to meet the shift goals.

At the close of the shift, celebrate your progress with the crew and report back to the staff about what was accomplished.

Don't forget, you're still getting a first look at all that comes into The Acorn too!
